The short version: Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
How this works
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a retailer or manufacturer. If you click it and buy something, the merchant pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the merchant’s margin, not your pocket.
We’re a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We may also participate in other affiliate programs and networks from time to time; where we do, the same disclosure applies.
How it does not work
Commissions don’t buy coverage or a good review. Our recommendations come from specifications, published test data, and hands-on use where we have it. If a product is worse than a cheaper alternative, we say so, and we’ve recommended products that pay us nothing over products that pay us well.
We’ll never insert an affiliate link into an article where the recommendation isn’t one we’d make anyway. Where a piece is sponsored or a product was provided free for review, we say so at the top of that article in addition to this disclosure.
Prices
Prices and availability change constantly. Any price mentioned on this site was accurate when written and may not be accurate now — always check the current price on the retailer’s page before buying.
Where you’ll see this
Any article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure at the top of the page, before the first link. This page is the full version.
