We write about technology where the numbers matter and the marketing is loud. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Engineering first
Claims get sourced. Where we cite a figure — energy density, charge curve, degradation rate, payback period — it comes from a manufacturer specification, a peer-reviewed paper, a regulatory filing, or our own measurement, and we say which. Where the data is contested or thin, we say that too rather than picking the number that makes a better headline.
Honest about trade-offs
Every technology has a cost. Thermal load, cycle life, charging speed, upfront price, installation complexity — if a product wins on one axis and loses on another, we report both. We don’t publish recommendations we wouldn’t give a friend.
Independent
Affiliate commissions never determine a recommendation or a ranking. We recommend products that pay us nothing when they’re the better choice. No manufacturer, advertiser, or affiliate partner gets to review an article before publication or influence its conclusion.
Transparent about money and access
Affiliate links are disclosed at the top of every article that contains them and in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Sponsored content is labelled “Sponsored” at the top. Review units provided free by a manufacturer are disclosed in the article, and receiving one never obligates us to a positive review — we return or disclose retention of hardware per each manufacturer’s terms.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix the article and add a dated correction note explaining what changed. We don’t quietly edit substantive errors out of existence. Spot a mistake? Email trey@falcomarketing.com with “Correction” in the subject and we’ll look at it.
Updates
Articles covering fast-moving topics get reviewed and updated periodically. Each article shows when it was last reviewed so you know how fresh the numbers are.
Use of AI
All articles are written and edited by humans. We may use AI tools for research assistance, outlining, or copy-editing, but every published claim is verified by a human editor who takes responsibility for it.
Who we are
Contributor biographies are being added to this page. In the meantime, questions about who wrote a particular article can be sent to trey@falcomarketing.com.
